Birgit Verhagen is an award-winning Australian pastel artist. Her love of the interplay between colour, light and texture remains a vibrant constant across all of her works. Regardless of their subject matter (portraits, landscapes, jellyfish, or her most recent antarctic series) all of her paintings glow with a richness of underlying hues. This technique, combined with a meticulous eye for detail, results in a suite of works expressing a dynamic between a careful clarity of form and a joyous
celebration of colour and tone.
